The coordinated handmade inlaid wooden chessboard shown in the gallery is part of the ensemble. The King measures a solid 4 inches tall by 1-1/2 inches in diameter, with faded burgundy base pads. The accompanying handcrafted chessboard measures 16″ square with 2″ maple and stained pine squares. The rest of the army follows the same backwoods style with that weathered tin finish and visible solder lines that punctuate authentic American folk art charm.
